Prospective Doctoral Students

Dr. Yang reviews PhD applicants every year and is always open to working with doctoral students whose research interests align with the lab.

Admission to the program is committee-based: all faculty review applicants and make decisions together. Students are not admitted by an individual faculty member. If you are particularly interested in working with Dr. Yang, mention his name in your application.

You are welcome to email Dr. Yang with questions about research interests and potential fit. He does not answer application or admissions questions; please direct those to the program.

Master’s Students

Prospective students can learn about the MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, including applications and admissions, on the program website.

Current Baruch MSIO students interested in joining the lab should email Dr. Yang directly. Please include:

  1. Your current CV.
  2. Your research interests and how they relate to the lab.
  3. The tasks or skills you would like to learn.
  4. Your average weekly availability for lab work.

Undergraduate Research Assistants

Baruch undergraduates can join as volunteers or through PSY 5030: Research Practicum in Psychology. We encourage the practicum option, and volunteers are also welcome. Consult the course listing for requirements and confirm current enrollment details with the college.

For either option, email Dr. Yang and include:

  1. Your current overall GPA and the courses you have taken.
  2. Your research interests and how they relate to the lab.
  3. The tasks or skills you would like to learn.
  4. Whether you would like to volunteer or enroll in PSY 5030.
  5. If volunteering, your average weekly availability for lab work.

Research Collaborations

We welcome research collaborations with researchers, organizations, and community partners whose interests align with the lab. Email Dr. Yang with a brief description of your research interests or a potential collaboration.
